My wife kept her distance,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>hovering by the door, while I leaned in closer, torn between curiosity and the urge to bleach the entire house. We joked nervously, but neither of us really laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We tried everything: Google image search, group chats, frantic messages to friends who \u201cwatch too many crime shows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No one knew.
